Weirdest Interview Ever

What is going on in this interview? How did this man possibly receive votes and there is no chance that this is serious.

Underwater Basejumping

Oxymoron? I think not. If you are a follower of the Zap, this is even crazier than the top 10 jump videos I posted a few months ago.

Guillaume Nery is a freediver, meaning he dives to great depths without any scuba or fins. This man heads over 600 feet down in this video.

It is almost an optical illlusion as he stands on the edge of an underwater sink hole and jumps 600 feet underwater to the bottom.

Hockey Fighting Camp for Kids

Found an awesome article on deadspin.com about a hockey camp started by some former goons who never made it to the NHL who now teach a hockey fighting camp for kids as young as 11. Worth a read really interesting stuff.

A Little History of Lord Stanley’s Cup

A silver punch bowl was purchased by the General Governor of Canada back in 1888 for what is the equivalent today of $1,175 and was a challenge cup which was decided on one amateur game each year in which the previous year’s victor was challenged by a team chosen by a board of trustees.

Here’s a photo of the first winners of the cup, The Montreal Hockey Club back in 1888

In 1926 the NHL became the only league left competing for the cup after the WHL folded.

Photo of the original cup in the 1940’s before it was redesigned.

In 2005 the cup was not awarded to a team for the first time since the Spanish flu because of the lockout. Many fans called for the cup to return to its original format of being a “challenge cup”

Original Cup at the Hockey Hall of Fame

Each year the names of each player, coach and staff member are engraved on the cup and many over the years have been misspelled.
– Boston Bruins was spelled “Bqstqn” in 1972.
– New York Islanders was spelled “Ilanders” in 1981.
– Glenn Hall’s name was misspelled as “Glin”” in 1951-52.

There are actually 3 versions of the cup:
-The original punch bowl, which is in the hall of fame
-The “Presentation Cup” which is authentic cup awarded to the team
-The replica, which sits in the hall of fame when the authentic cup is not there.

…coming soon, anecdotes of the cup’s adventures with winning players

Getting Sappy on the Zap

Welllll not too sappy, but this is pretty cool. A woman bought an i-pad on her 100th birthday. This was the first time she had ever used a computer.

A Major Failure in Candy Production

I like to consider myself a candy connoisseur and a certain candy company has been bothering me for quite some time.
It is a tale of 2 candy bars that both hint at brilliance, but ultimately fail. Their strengths need to be combined to form a new super candy bar.

Almond Joys:
A great candy bar. Milk chocolate, clearly the better of the two (dark is no good) and coconut make for a great combination. Now they toss two huge almonds right smack in the middle that dominate the bar. What a disgrace. Most of the time I bite around them and I presume a lot of other people do the same.

Mounds:
Another great bar except that it is based on the dark chocolate. Same exact layout as the Joys with coconut and chocolate, but this time they got it right by excluding the almonds.

Brilliant idea!
Combine the two.

Milk Chocolate + Coconut – Almonds = Greatness!

Candy Rules.

Some Legit Hipster Dogs

Nice little blog going on with photos of hipster dogs. Gotta have a small little dog with some shades if you want to be hip these days. The one with the stuck on mustache takes the cake.
